Welcome to RAVE (Regional Area Vocal Education) event registration! We are so excited to be able to offer education to our members so close to home! There are several locations for you to select (and you are welcome to attend both weekends if you’d like! The cost for the day is $25 and you will be responsible for finding your own lodging and restaurants. The dates, location, and faculty are as follows:

9:30am – Registration

10:00am – Backfield in Motion

Our bodies are our instruments.  How we “hold” our instrument affects how we breathe and thus, how we sound.  Learn about alignment and breathing as we warm up our bodies and voices for the day’s activities.

11:00am – Vocal Motion

Skill Building – learn how to develop the vocal skills that allow you to sing fast or slow, high or low as well as keeping the voice fluid and sparkly, rich and resonant.  What more could you want?

12:00noon – Lunch

1:30pm – Loco-Motion

Physicality & Movement – Our bodies are our musical instruments.  From physical warmups to executing choreographed movements to selling a ballad through individual physical expression, learn to maximize the impact of your movement and support your vocal production at the same time.

2:30pm – Sound in Motion

An exploration of resonance to guide you in your understanding of how this works in the barbershop artform.

3:30pm – Poetry in Motion

Which came first…the technique or the artistry?  Let’s explore the relationship between this duo and the elements each bring to the wrestling match…er…dance.

4:30pm – Set it in Motion
